Orthodontics is a service we do offer in our office. It is done by an orthodontist that comes to our office once every two weeks on Saturdays. We do cater the service for the patients who need orthodontics, and we have quite a patient population that's going through orthodontics. I, myself, do orthodontics as well on the patients, so this is a service which is much needed and we provide them in our office in a very confidential and personalized way.
Correct crooked teeth with orthodontics
Orthodontics is focused on correcting the alignment of teeth. This is what we may recommend if your teeth have come in crooked or you are dealing with large gaps, crowded teeth, or a bad bite. Traditional orthodontic treatments are used for more severe cases, while our discreet modern treatments can be used for many mild or moderate cases. You may need traditional orthodontic care if you are younger and your teeth are still developing as well.
Traditional braces, clear aligners
Traditional Orthodontics – Metal brackets and wires are placed on your teeth by an orthodontist who comes into our office. This means you get top care from a specialist while never leaving the comfort of our office. You will need to have your braces adjusted regularly, but this is the most trusted and time-tested treatment for moderate to severe alignment issues.
Dr. Johnson, actually, he’s one of those, as I would describe it, more of a perfectionist. I mean, he's one of those guys that, from a detail standpoint, goes all the way down to making sure that the color of the enamel is matching up tooth-to-tooth, making sure that any type of crown or work that he does is really perfect. As far as I'm concerned, I would recommend Dr. Johnson for just about anybody that has any bridge work, crown work, any of that, obviously, that would need to be done.
When you find someone that is as detailed and is willing to put forth the effort to get everything perfect for you, to me, distance doesn't even come into play. Whether it's an hour, hour-and-a-half drive, I would rather go somewhere where I knew the work was going to be done correctly, versus a shorter drive in which I turned around and ended up in a scenario where maybe I'm not 100% happy with what my experience was. Now I have to go fix it.
I'm in the fitness business, so I sell a lot of high-end product. You get what you pay for, and it's one of those things that I see. In anything in life, you get what you pay for. I'm willing to pay a little bit more. I'm willing to drive a little bit further to be able to have a good experience from beginning to end.
Invisalign – Invisalign is the gold standard when it comes to invisible dental alignment treatments. These clear plastic aligners are nearly invisible and can correct your misaligned teeth in as little as 12 months. This is less than half the time it takes for traditional orthodontics, but Invisalign is not effective for more severe orthodontic situations.
MTM® Clear•Aligner – This clear aligner option is less expensive than Invisalign and can straighten your smile in as little as three to six months. This is because the aligner trays focus on correcting minor issues with your front teeth only (canines and incisors).
Clear Ceramic Braces – This is a clear version of the traditional orthodontic option. This means you can correct your misaligned teeth in a more discreet way. Your dentist will help you understand the benefits and limitations of this treatment to see if it will work for you.
Your first appointment
You will need to have a dental cleaning and exam done prior to your orthodontic treatment. This way, all of the necessary X-rays will already be done, and your teeth will be clean and ready for bracket placement or invisible braces. The exam will also give you an opportunity to discuss the timeline with your dentist. If you choose Invisalign, we’ll use digital imaging to help plan your treatment and show you the results before you start. Dr. Brar will help you know exactly what you are going to need.
