Do You Suffer From Dental Fear?
Many people do all they can to avoid going to the dentist out of fear. If you are one of those dealing with dental anxiety, you need to know that you are not alone. There are millions of Americans dealing with the same type of dental fear you are. Knowing you are not alone and then making the choice to find a way to beat your dental anxiety are both necessary parts of regaining a high level of dental health.
Brar Dentistry Can Help
To help those suffering from dental fear, we have dental sedation options available. These options, along with the comforting environment and caring staff that you find at any one of our four locations, will help calm your nerves and give you the courage you need to face your dental problems head on. Don’t worry, though – we will be there to help you the whole time.
- Nitrous Oxide – This is probably more familiar to you as laughing gas. This type of sedation is mild and will not put you to sleep. The nitrous takes effect quickly and will ease your anxiety to allow you to get the care that you need. You will be able to drive yourself to and from your dental appointment as well.
- Oral Sedation – You will take a pill roughly an hour before your procedure. This will give the medication time to take effect. You will be on the edge of sleep but still conscious throughout your procedure. This level of sedation is deeper than nitrous and will take longer to clear from your system. You will need a ride home for this sedation level.
- IV Sedation – With IV sedation, we are able to adjust your sedation level up or down during your procedure based on your specific needs. This type of sedation takes several hours to wear off following your procedure, so you will need a friend or relative to drive you to and from our office. You will likely remember nothing from your procedure.
